a few years back, lockstin on youtube made a video coming up with ideas for a physical counterpart to eevee, making a lizard thing. i decided to do my take on it!!! THIS TOOK A REALLY LONG TIME!!!!!!!! dex entires under the cut!!!
the idea that your friends won't like you if you're too weird is wrong you just need better friends for example one time I told a friend whenever I was losing my mind I laid down on the floor under my desk and stared at it until I was better and next time she visited me she taped a bag of salami snacks to the underside of my desk with a message saying "going insane all by yourself, handsome?" which I only saw months later when I had a breakdown. that's friendship.
loopingpyre asked:
What [car] would you build a time machine out of?
toyota-supra answered:
an old VW Beetle because it wouldn’t look out of place literally anywhere
Lancelot: Egad sire! Look at that.
King Arthur: Hm, rare to see a VW Beetle this far north. Not impossible, mind.
just figured it out
isekai about a guy whose "cheat skill" is that he can make as much corn as he wants, and at first hes super confused and disappointed, but this guy was a big Freeaboo and loved american consumerism and remembers that in America, products from foodstuffs, to plastic, to makeup, to explosives, to fuel, to fabrics, are all synthsized from corn (this is a fact by the way), so he brings the wonders of America's corn-based industry to whatever fantasy world he lands in.
this is how it would go if it was made to average isekai standards, and is the most likely version to get made because most modern isekai is about the unquestioned ethical decisions of an invader, who also just so happens to be blessed with the christlike power to enforce his will onto the world, but always in a way where aw cmon you cant get mad at him hes soooo nice look at how hes not at all being racist to the animal people who look exactly like everyone else but have dog ears or something so everyone treats them as subhuman.
in my perfect world where i could make an anime into anything i want with no concern for meeting modern anime standards, i'd want it to start like that with the first 3 episodes or so being about wish fulfillment, and then gradually over the remaining episodes more and more problems begin stacking up. like, in the first episode where his power is established, its shown that hes able to grow corn anywhere, in almost any soil condition, during any season, but he can only grow his corn on a patch of land once. after that batch of corn grows and is harvested, the nutrients is sucked out the soil, and so he needs to move onto a new patch of land after every harvest.
there's a few episodes of showing the population getting spoiled and falling in love with these products. anime reaction shots of peasants eating cheap prepackaged foods like vending machine and shelf stable processed snacks. ecchi scenes of noblewomen trying on makeup products and then ordering mass shipments. political factions requesting fuel and gunpowder to bolster infrastructure in hollow political fiction. ya know, typical anime stuff.
then eventually, maybe around the end of episode 4, farmers begin speaking on how they cannot grow their crops, because their soil has been sapped of its essential nutrients. this marks the end of act 1.
act two follows the protag trying to solve mounting problems. plastics aren't biodegrading fast enough and are causing ecosystems to start choking, and animal populations begin to dwindle. visiting small villages where he had shipped massive quanitities of shelf stable foods, the protag finds the previously starving populations fed, but increasingly sick as they have been blasted with high concentrations of garbage nutrients and their bodies are rejecting it, not given enough time to acclimate. the emissions from the increase in ethanol production has disturbed the flow of mana in the atmosphere which had a natural cooling effect on the world, and after a year of this new corn economy the land has heated up significantly.
the final act is straight up miserable. there is no more wish fulfillment, and instead it is focused on the protag desperately trying to fix this world where he has gotten an entire country addicted to something that is killing them. the end of episode 11 shows the protag wake up, mercifully granting that it was a long, drawn out dream he had experienced, and that he had NOT actually doomed an otherwise stable society to crumble under an industrial disaster. the final episode is dedicated to him becoming reacquainted with the real world, and seeing the same issues taking place in slow motion, and it freaks him out. the episode shows him making healthy changes in his life, cooking more, meeting local farmers, and generally being better educated. it ends with him falling asleep, and as he drifts off, the phrase "Savepoint loaded!" pops up, implying he has a second chance to go back into the fantasy world and do things better this time.
this is my corn isekai idea.
